#24DaysofGiving has now begun!

Today is #GivingTuesday and we’re kicking off this “new tradition of generosity” with another #24DaysofGiving.

What’s this about?

#GivingTuesday is a day to celebrate generosity, and with #24DaysofGiving, we’re asking you to re-think what it means to give back. We’re hoping that after you celebrate by giving a donation of time or money to your favorite non-profit, you’ll consider coming back to PatientsLikeMe to donate your data.

And we’re giving back, too. For every piece of health data you share on PatientsLikeMe over the next 24 days, we’re going to donate up to $20,000 to Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island to help fund life-affirming wishes for seriously ill children.

What data can you donate?

Any! Everything you share – from basic information on your profile to treatment evaluations – will contribute towards the $20,000 donation, but here are a few places for you to get started:

  • Get your 3-stars: Your “right now” is always changing. Your 3-star page helps prioritize the data and makes it easy to update again and again so you can get the bigger picture of your health over time.
  • Complete your About Me page: This is the foundation of research at PatientsLikeMe. By adding things like age, race and gender to your profile, you’re helping researchers put your experience in context.
  • Add a treatment evaluation: Who better to share about how a treatment worked or any side effects than you? When you add a treatment evaluation, you can help someone else make the best choice for them.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll keep everyone in the community updated on #24DaysofGiving. Keep an eye out!

A look back…

Last December, patients like you came together to donate more than 450,000 health data points, including 32,000 treatment reports and 100,000 symptom reports. The data that everyone selflessly donated has a heartbeat that will keep on giving – helping you today, and others just starting out on their journeys. Thank you for re-thinking what it means to give this December.
