Thanks for your kind words! We’re always looking to expand the number of conditions we cover; ultimately our goal is to build communities for people with every life-changing illness that exists (all ~7,000 of them!). However, part of the “PatientsLikeMe magic” comes from having a good understanding of the issues unique to every condition and helping develop tools that allow patients to share data about the issues most relevant to them.

If you go to the front page of the website at http://www.patientslikeme.com you’ll see there’s a link there that allows you to “Request a new community” - please enter the condition you’re interested in so we can add your input to our database.

To my surprise, however, PLM is too rigidly structured around a (very) limited number of conditions. People with other conditions are “blocked at the door” (I assure you, a painfull experience).

I can’t fathom why this would be either technically necessary or functionally desirable. Beats me!

Why not just let people report their condition(s) and allow them to find similar patients - which I understand is THE purpose of PLM?
